Replacement Fees

No daily monetary fines will be assessed on most overdue items (exceptions include Communication Arts equipment).

Patrons will be billed for the replacement cost of overdue items PLUS a per item $5 billing fee according to the following schedule:

  • Regular items (28-day checkout period) will be billed after 28 days overdue.
  • 3-day checkout items (includes items shelved in Main Collection and 3-day Course Reserves) will be billed after 9 days overdue.
  • 4-hour Course Reserve items will be billed after 24 hours overdue.

Billing will occur on your student account through One Stop. Payment must be made through One Stop either in person or online - patrons cannot pay this fee at the library. When a library student account charge is paid, One Stop will report the payment back to the library. There will likely be a delay.

Once an item is billed, you will not be permitted to check out any more items from the library until you return the items (or pay for them) and pay the $5 per item billing fee.

If you return billed items, the replacement fee will be cancelled and removed from your account. The $5 per item billing fee will not be removed from your account. It must be paid.

Patron Behavior

Food and Drink

Food and drink are permitted in the library, provided they do not create a distraction for patrons. In the event of an accidental spill, housekeeping should be notified immediately.

Public Displays of Affection

Library Staff and Library Assistants reserve the right to confront any patron(s) whose public displays of affection cause other library patrons discomfort.

Controversial Materials

Use of controversial materials in public spaces, such as pornography or gratuitously violent or grotesque images is prohibited. If such a violation occurs, the patron will be asked to refrain and the Dean of Students may be informed. Some material may be ambiguous.
