Minnesota Statistics and Data on MN Schools

Minnesota Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System (SLEDS)
Minnesota has developed the Minnesota Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System (SLEDS) matching student data from pre-kindergarten through completion of postsecondary education and into the workforce. By bridging existing data with other incoming data a range of education programmatic and delivery questions can be answered to gauge the effectiveness of current programs and design targeted improvement strategies to help students.

What can I learn about my school, students and teachers using the "My School" tool?
The My School tool includes narrative information provided by the school and an overview of a school’s student demographics, school climate, test results, graduation rates, consistent attendance and contact information. While this page includes school- or district-wide information, it is important to note that there are often times differences in performance and perceptions of students at different grades. More detailed, grade-specific data can be found in the reports on the left-hand menu bar.

MN Department of Education The body that oversees the licensing and verification of all teachers and administrators working in MN schools. The site includes information on licensing in MN, including information for out-of-state trained teachers.
Education Minnesota The largest teacher's union in the state of Minnesota. The site contains information about the union, as well as issues and news relating to education and teachers in MN.
