T. J. Jones Library: Services

Interlibrary Loan

NCU students, faculty, and staff may borrow materials from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan for free. You may request books, articles from periodicals, DVDs, CDs, and more. Items generally arrive in less than a week.

Once you discover a resource that you would like to have sent to you from another library, click this link:

We will process the request as quickly as possible and will email you when the item has arrived or if we need more information to process your request.

NCU does not charge patrons to borrow materials. When requesting materials, we always try to find a library that is willing to lend at no cost. In most instances we are able to do so, but on occasion this is not possible. We will always inform the patron before requesting items that have a cost. Items returned past their due date will incur a fine. See library policies for more information.

For Students

Find Course Reserves

Your professor may have placed important materials on Course Reserve in the library. These may be found at the Circulation Desk on the main level of the library OR as an eBook.

Find Your Textbook(s) as an eBook

Many of your required textbook titles are available online as eBooks from the library. You'll be able to "checkout" most eBooks at the same time as your peers! Only a few titles require that you take turns (indicated in the list as 1-3 users at a time).

Click below to access the Spring 2023 Course Reserve list!

For Faculty

If you would like to place items on reserve for your course, please fill out the Course Reserves Request Form.

We will process your request as soon as possible and contact you once the reserve list is set up. Please email

us at reserves@northcentral.edu with any comments or questions.

Textbook eBooks for your courses

Check out the list in the student section above to see if there are eBooks matching any of your current semester's textbooks.
Let your students know!

Want to know if a title currently exists in the library's eBooks collection or inquire if a purchase option is available from our eBook vendor? Please contact Judy Pruitt at japruitt@northcentral.edu with your course and book title(s) info. to make a request. Email us for any other comments or questions.

Library Instruction

Help your students access the print and online resources critical to your discipline by scheduling a library instruction session. Sessions can be scheduled and tailored to the needs of your course via the Library Instruction Request Form.

Please note that due to the volume of instruction requests we receive, we require two-weeks notice for requests.

Research Help

The library offers one-on-one research consultations to help you with your library research. Whether you are just starting a project or nearing the end, friendly library staff is available to help you find the best resources.

Feel free to stop by the Help Desk (located on the main level of the library), or email reference@northcentral.edu.
